Hello!
My name is Susi Thomas and I have been clog dancing for 15 years and teaching clog dance classes for 6 years.
Clog dancing is a true American Folk Dance. Our roots started back when our ancestors migrated to the Appalachian Mountains and with them they brought their homeland dance steps and music. With influences of English, Irish, Scottish, German, African American and Native American and others, you can imagine how the melting pot of homeland dances and music blended together and became what we know today as clogging and the music became bluegrass. Today Clog dancers dance to many styles of music that include: bluegrass, country, Irish, Cajun, Rock and Roll, Pop and many others.
Clogging is a fast growing style of dance that is mainstreaming into the currrent dance world. Clog dancers are competing on national shows like America's Got Talent and America's Best Dance Crew. Clogging is a true American dance form that is fun and stresses aerobic exercise and dance techniques.
I teach at several different venues. Please note that each venue is a separate facility with their own times, fees and locations.
